This project is located between the Lost River Mountain Range and the Lemhi Range in the remote but scenic Pahsimeroi Valley in central Idaho. Largely an open range and agricultural area, this project is influenced by the rough and practical rural farm structures of the area. Designed as a small compound, the home is organized around an enclosed garden courtyard, walled to keep out the ever present wind and migrating deer and antelope. Arrayed around the courtyard are simple shed forms connected with a flat roof circulation element. As a feature counterpoint to the design, the home has a “lookout” inspired one room tower providing spectacular distant 360 degree views of the broad flat valley.  The home will be entirely sheathed in corrugated galvanized metal and covered with a corrugated rusted metal roof.
